What to expect on your first visit

"No perfect people allowed"

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-wracking. We want to help make your first experience at Parkside a great one!

We like to say there's "no perfect people allowed." This means we bring our messy, imperfect lives to church each week expecting God to show up as we pursue knowing Him together. Life's too short for religious pretense. We're more interested in reaching North County, the West, and the world one child and family at a time.

Whether you are brand new to this God / Church / Jesus thing or you have been following Him for a long time, Parkside is a great place to make friends and grow in your faith. Learn more about Parkside Church.

Join us at Lifeway Church in Vista (1120 Highland Drive) at 4:30pm on Sundays. Experience community with worship, teaching, group discussion, and dinner. When the weather is nice we meet outside for the whole thing, but even when it is cooler, we still eat outside. Kids classes are available for toddlers through 5th graders. Now that the weather is turning cooler, we encourage you to dress warm and bring a blanket and your own chairs.

What to expect for our live service...

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?

In the book of Acts, early Christians spent a lot of time together. It was more than just a "service," it was life. So our Sunday nights look a little different than a "typical" church service. At 4:30, the Parkside band leads in music - song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music portion of service is complete, one of our teachers will share a short introduction to a Bible passage before we break into groups to discover more truths from God's Word. Testimonies and prayer times are often part of the service.

Afterwards, we all enjoy a meal together at tables outside. The last families usually leave before 7:00pm.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Except in the case of rain or other "extreme" weather (yeah, we know, we live in Southern California), we will be meeting outside of Lifeway Church. Dress accordingly. Sundays at Parkside are friendly, casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

After we worship together, we offer simple but fun kids classes for toddlers through 5th grade where they will memorize Bible verses, sing songs (and do a little dancing!), and learn a Bible story. Most weeks kids will be learning the same passage that the adults are, so you can discuss it on the drive home!
